Women from Fjærland modelling for a german fashionmagazine.
The german fashionmagazine Brigitte from Hamburg is taking pictures for the fall collection of their clothes, in Fjærland. The models are ordinary women from Fjærland.

13 ladies were photographed on various places in the Booktown, in Mundal. The magazine didn't want too many youths, though instead they asked for women of all ages with different bodyshapes.

The September magazine of Brigitte will show us the result along with a bigger reportage from the Norwegian Booktown.



 

German movie in Fjærland
German movie will be made in Fjærland, during the summer 2010.

The german filmcompany Studio Hamburg is shooting a german movie in the beautiful fjordlandscape, in the small village of Fjærland with only 300 inhabitants. Most of the shooting takes place in picturesque Mundal, the centre of Fjærland.

 

TV-PROGRAM ABOUT EXTREME SPORT ALONG THE SOGNEFJORD
The NRK(Norwegian National TV) is making a TV-program about extreme sport along the Sognefjord and Fjærland is one of the six places, that will be filmed. grafikk/186min TJH.JPG

The program will be shown on National Television (NRK) in 2011. The famous alpinist, Lasse Kjus, will have a role in the program, where he will perform a stunt in Jostedalen.

The program will show more than only extreme sport as we'll get to know 12 of Norway's best off pist skiers through various episodes. They will live on a boat and visit the local places, get to know the local food, culture, tradition and of course nature. The environment will be in focus and it will also be a travel program as the viewers will really get to know life in the area of Sogn.

 

Norwegian Fjords voted the best again!
National Geographic Society's Center for Sustainable Destinations rates Fjord Norway on top of the list of the iconic destinations in the world.

Like the first Destination Rated survey in 2004, Norway's fjords region has again taken top honors, with a score of 85 points. Judges noted the gorgeous scenery and well-preserved rural life that are vigorously protected.

A total of 133 destinations were surveyed by a panel of 437 well-traveled experts in a variety of fields related to sustainable tourism. The survey is the cover story of the November-December 2009 issue of National Geographic Traveler magazine, on newsstands Nov. 3

Fjærland- one of Norway's most romantic places
Fjærland is on the list of Norway's 10 most romantic traveldestinations!

In April 2009, the travelmagazine , Reiser og Ferier, made a list of the 10 most romantic places in Norway, worth visiting. It was the beauty of the nature and the feeling that time stands still in Fjærland, that gave the town a place on the list.


 

Japanese visit the Norwegian Glacier Museum
Japanese TV team and Miss Universe visit Fjærland!
Japanese TV team visits The Norwegian Glacier Museum, Monday 12th of April at 11 am. along with team is the former Miss Universe of Japan and this year's candidate.

The japanese will learn about climate and how the museum work on the issue.
