The mountains of Fjærland has exciting and beautiful skiing possibilities within a wide range of difficulty levels. Explore the mountains by yourself or contact professional ski guiding companies. In all cases, pay respect to weather- and avalanche forecasts and make sure you got skills and equipment needed for safe ski touring.

Dampen SAUNA
Ever tried Dampen? The Dampen floating sauna is located on the beautiful Fjærland Fjord. There you can relax and enjoy the fantastic view of the steep mountains, glaciers and the green fjord both summer and winter. When you need to cool off, just jump into the cold, refreshing glacier water. A fantastic experience!

The Norwegian Glacier Museum
The Norwegian Glacier Museum is open in winter on Tuesdays and Thursdays in January, February and March from 10:00 to 15:00. Also open for groups on request in November and December. Here you can watch the breathtaking panoramic movie about Jostedalsbreen National Park and learn a lot about glaciers and climate.

Ski Centre
Fjærland is centrally located if you like to ski. Within a radius of less than 60 minutes driving, you can reach three different ski centres from here:
Sogndal ski centre – Hodlekve – is only a 25-minute drive from Fjærland. Here you will find trails of varying difficulty, and children's slopes for the little ones.
Sogn Ski centre – Heggmyrane – s located about 50 minutes drive from Fjærland. Here you will find a ski centre that offers challenges for everyone, everything from safe children's slopes to varied challenges for the more experienced skier. If you like free skiing, Heggmyrane offers this too.
Jølster skis centre – Bjørkelia - is located approx. 55 min drive from Fjærland. Here you will find slopes with varying degrees of difficulty and are suitable for both adults and children. The total length of the prepared ski slopes here is 4000 m!

Cross-country skiing
Great cross-country skiing tracks are located not far from Fjærland.
Fjærland is also centrally located if you like to go cross-country skiing. When snow conditions allow, there are tracks in Mundal or at Bøyane here in Fjærland. The trail is approx. 4 km long in easy terrain.
In Sogndalsdalen valley, Luster and Jølster you will find great tracks – both short and easy and in more demanding terrain of varying lengths. Here you can work out, relax and enjoy the experience in wild, beautiful nature.

Lustrabadet water park
A trip to a swimming pool is a sure winner, for both adults and children. A short hour's drive from Fjærland you will find Lustrabadet, one of Norway's most beautiful indoor water parks. Here you’ll find 2 different children's pools, slides, a 25-metre pool, a wellness area with a grotto, a heated pool, saunas and outdoor pools. Here you can enjoy the fountain, air bubbles, massage and counter-current jets with fantastic views of mountains and waterfalls. What more can you ask for?
